I checked the library Twitter and the library Facebook group.  I also read some of the latest news and meditated a little bit.

While I am reading through the news, I often like quirky stories.  Libraries are often a haven for the unique or interesting.

I also look for more local news about libraries.

Or articles that can directly affect the library which affect programming.

I watched the documentary, Chasing the Moon A Film By Robert Stone, It Took Millions of Steps to Make One Giant Leap last night..  It is part of the American Experience series of documentaries on PBS.  I rather liked it.  It is the history of how the United States reached the moon landing.

I also read some more of Leadership Is Language.  I am reading about how the early focus of Taylorism was about separating doing from thinking.  The worker did things while management thought for them.  This is increasingly becoming untenable in todays world.  This moved to Total Quality Management, where management planned things, but expected people who worked on assembly lines to manage the quality of their product.  A step in the direction of thinking before acting.  In this book, L. David Marquet is challenging the old industrial management style of command and control, and describing a more thoughtful approach.

I also listened to tribute DVD called One Love, The Bob Marley All-Star Tribute.  It was relaxing listening to reggae.
