Daily Thoughts 08/31/2020

I checked the library Twitter and Facebook Group this morning.

There is going to be a staff meeting today about opening to the public on September 8, 2020 for browsing.

I read some more of Trekonomics.  I am reading about the Futurians and Isaac Asimov.

The staff meeting went well.

I had some time to put in some orders for new material as well.

I got a few more images to post for the census.

I finished reading Trekonomics.  I enjoyed reading about the Ferengi as well as how it may be possible in our future to one day have a post scarcity society.  Manu Saadia writes about how many aspects of a society where there is enough abundance for everyone are not based \on technology but perceptions of scarcity.

I also read some more of Moonshots.  Naveen Jain criticizes sustainability because it is solely about efficiency, not about increasing available resources.  Innovation is also necessary to make more resources available.
